We were at Ganga Asian Cuisine last week. We went in with reservations for 3 couples. We were greeted by two young ladies who confirmed our reservation but we still had to wait. So we waited and then I asked what are we waiting for? We did have reservations. She said to be seated. Well 10 minutes later this big asian guy finally comes out and he starts to look around. I asked him what seems to be the problem. He said I’m trying to locate a big enough table. I said but we had reservations. He said well as you can see we are full. I said what? Are you kidding me? Then this guy obviously sweating (hopefully not on the food) said, I can give you a discount if you come back another time. What? Another time? How about not at all. Then we had a yelling match as if we weren’t customers but as if we were employees. The whole place turns around, and we just walked out while this guy was still yelling. You decide if you want to eat in a place like that. Ganga Asian Cuisine in Matawan NJ doesn’t get our vote. You see, they know how to take the reservation, but they don’t know how to hold the reservation.
I would have taken the discount. What’s the big deal? So you just go to another restaurant. Or get take out and get a discount on that. Either way what’s the fuss?
Sorry NJ Joe (is it)? Are you kidding me? Your 3 couples with a reservation. Dinner should have been $free! Forget the discount! I’m not a big fan of that place. There are several other places that are a lot more friendly and nicer. Mahzu Japanese Restaurant in freehold is one! Great Place and Great Food! Why deal with the people like that when you don’t have to?
I’ve been to this restaurant. The food is really good, but I’ll never go back there again. First of all the so called “big” asian guy is not that big. You must be very short if you think he’s big. Second of all, I’ve seen this guy in action having a yelling match with a customer and then he told the customer and his family to leave. This place will not last that much longer. Besides, one day Asian boy will meet his match. Someone who has nothing to lose, someone who doesn’t care and this man will straighten out Asian boy real quick. But I have to say, the food here was good.
Searching around for some good Asian food, I came across this website and the reviews. I have to say I’m shocked about the type of reviews I’ve read about this place. There is another nj business directory that states there were fist fights with the owner. What is all this about? I don’t care how good the food is. I would never want to be in that type of atmosphere. To me the atmosphere is just as important as the food. But that’s just me. I stand 6’6 and would like to see this so called big guy for myself. Maybe have dinner somewhere else, then go to this place for drinks. I want to see what all the fluff is about.
